Nelly Korda is the preeminent force in women’s golf right now, and her domination has received backing from an unlikely source – her LPGA Tour rivals.
The 25-year-old American won five straight events, including the Chevron Championship - the first major of the year - between January and April 2024.
This sequence catapulted Korda into exalted company, with Nancy Lopez (1978) and Annika Sorenstam (2004-05) the only other LPGA players to have won five tournaments in succession.
Maja Stark, who finished joint runner-up to Korda at Carlton Hills, and Andrea Lee both believe that Korda’s brilliance should be celebrated as it is raising the profile of women’s golf.

Lee finished in a tie for ninth place at the AIG Women’s Open at Walton Heath in 2023, with Korda just two places further back.
This year’s Championship will be staged on the Old Course at St Andrews between 21-25 August.
