Delamere Forest, which was designed by Herbert Fowler, is a heathland course which features fast-running fairways with challenging contouring and elevation changes.

The Cheshire course hosted Pre-Qualifying for last year’s Championship, when Lily May Humphreys led a group of 22 golfers into Final Qualifying.

The Championship course at Pyle & Kenfig [below] is laid out in two loops of nine. The front nine, originally designed by the revered Harry Colt, takes you inland, whereas the back nine, designed by P. Mackenzie Ross, takes you out into the sand dunes where any inclement weather can have a big impact.

Zoe Ridgway, Championship Director – AIG Women’s Open at The R&A, said: “We would like to thank Delamere Forest for once again hosting Pre-Qualifying for the AIG Women’s Open.

“Delamere Forest staged Pre-Qualifying last year and they were absolutely terrific hosts.

“Our thanks also go to Pyle & Kenfig for agreeing to host Final Qualifying.

“Pyle & Kenfig is a stone’s throw from Royal Porthcawl and it will give the players – and the locals – a taste of what to expect during the Championship.

“We are certain both courses will provide a stern test on the way to the AIG Women’s Open.”
