Allisen Corpuz

Allisen Corpuz

Allisen Corpuz was congratulated by former US President, and fellow Hawaiian, Barack Obama after she won the US Women’s Open at Pebble Beach at the beginning of July.

Corpuz finished on nine-under-par, three strokes clear of Charley Hull and two-time AIG Women’s Open winner Jiyai Shin.

The 25-year-old finished T4 at the 2023 Chevron Championship and T15 at the Women’s PGA Championship.

Corpuz first made news in golf in 2008 at the age of ten when she surpassed fellow Hawaiian Michelle Wie as the youngest qualifier in US Public Links history.

She went on to attend the University of South California and won all-American honours on two occasions.

Having reached the top ten on the world amateur rankings she was selected for the 2021 Curtis Cup at Conwy in Wales and won all her three games, partnering world number one Rose Zhang to two fourball victories.

After missing the cut at her first AIG Women's Open in 2022, Corpuz finished tied-sixth at Walton Heath, 10 shots off winner Lilia Vu.
