Ela Anacona

Anacona produced a truly magnificent performance to win the Women’s Amateur Latin America championship on home soil last November.

The Argentinian, who completed her studies at the University of Arkansas this summer, stormed to victory by 12 shots at Pilar Golf, earning exemptions into the AIG Women’s Open, Chevron Championship and Evian Championship in the process.

“I was on the 16th when I thought ‘OK, I think I’m going to win this thing’ and then I remembered the AIG Women’s Open is in St Andrews,” said Anacona following her victory.

“I’m so excited and can’t wait to play the Old Course.”
