Spitz’s distinguished amateur career featured victory in the Girls’ Amateur Championship in 2018 and a major debut as a 19-year-old at the 2019 AIG Women’s Open.

A fine run of form across May and June – including a runner-up finish in the Amundi German Masters where she was beaten in a play-off by Alexandra Forsterling – ensured Spitz qualified for the AIG Women’s Open in July as one of the top five players not already exempt on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit.
