Her family moved to America when she was nine and in 2006 Shin became the US girls' champion. She turned professional four years later, but had to wait another six years for her first LPGA Tour victory. It came in the Volunteers of America Texas Shoot-out.
Four years earlier, though, she had been in a four-way play-off for the HSBC Champions, but it was Angela Stanford who took the title on the third extra hole. Her best major performance to date came in the 2017 AIG Women’s Open at Kingsbarns, where she finished sixth.
Showed promise earlier this year finishing tied-19th in the US Women's Open and tied-12th in the Evian Championship following her third top-10 major finish at last year's Women's PGA Championship.
