Jin Young Ko became world number one during a stellar 2019 campaign in which she won her first two major titles.
These were comprised of a three-stroke victory at the ANA Inspiration (now the Chevron Championship) and then a two-shot success at the Evian Championship.
Those wins came four years after she was runner-up to Inbee Park on her debut in the AIG Women’s Open at Turnberry, an event which came just a few weeks after her 20th birthday.
Ko won her very first tournament as an LPGA member in 2018 – only the second player ever to do so – and was the tour’s Rookie of the Year.
She came close to a third major crown at the 2020 US Women's Open, being pipped by fellow Korean Kim A-lim, and won the HSBC Women's World Championship back to back in 2022 and 2023.
Alongside her two victories, Ko can boast nine other top-10s in majors – including second- and third-place finishes in the AIG Women’s Open, in 2015 and 2019 resectively.
Ko has 15 LPGA victories to her name and has earned six top-20 finishes in 2024.
