Lauren Coughlin won her first LPGA Tour title at the end of July when she triumphed in the CPKC Women's Open, finishing two shots clear of rookie Mao Saigo at Earl Grey Golf Club in Calgary.
The American quickly followed up this win with glory in the ISPS Handa Scottish Open less than a month later.
Coughlin has impressed in majors in 2024, finishing fourth at the Amundi Evian Championship and T3 at the Chevron.
While at Hickory High School in Virginia, Coughlin became the first girl to play on the boys’ team all four years.
She gained a degree in psychology at the University of Virginia and married the university’s American Football player John Pond after he proposed during an awards ceremony.
