Perrine Delacour was left “speechless” after winning her maiden title on the Ladies European Tour, in June 2024.
The Frenchwoman defeated amateur Helen Briem in a play-off to triumph in the Dormy Open Helsingborg – qualifying for the AIG Women’s Open in the process.
Delacour’s career has been on an upward trajectory of late, as evidenced by her T11 finish at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2023. She followed this up with a T21 finish at Walton Heath, her best return in the AIG Women’s Open.
Winner of the 2009 British Girls Amateur Championship title and a semi-finalist at the British Ladies Amateur three years later, Delacour turned professional the following season after becoming one of four amateurs to make it through the LPGA Tour qualifying school.
She shot a tournament record 10-under-par 62 at the 2017 Manulife Classic, but it was on the 2019 Symetra Tour that she really made her mark, winning twice in becoming their Player of the Year.
Delacour had the honour of hitting the first tee shot at the Paris Olympics.
