In her first season of playing major championships Park tied for second at the Evian Championship, third at the US Open and sixth at the ANA Inspiration. So it came as no real surprise when she returned to the US Women's Open the following season and came from three behind with a round to go to beat amateur Hye-jin Choi by two.
A year later she was four adrift after 54 holes of the PGA Championship and won a play-off against Nasa Hataoka and Ryu Soyeon at the second extra hole. In her defence of that title she was just a stroke behind Hannah Green and also that season had her best AIG Women’s Open finish, eighth at Woburn.
